Artist statement
Throughout this curated set of photos within the book you’ll see photographs of objects I made, objects I arranged, and myself. Currently as of the beginning of 2025, I don’t have a muse…But in a way I’ve became my own muse. If I have an idea for a certain way a person in a photo should look, and I don’t have a model, I’ll just use myself. So in a way, I hope you can see a sincere side of me in my work. There are a few series within the book, and a couple of select photos. For instance, about 5 years ago or more, I really got into knowing more about the Native American side of myself. I took self portraits with different patterns of tribal face paint. I don’t believe this is “costume”, but like a masculine form of eyeshadow or eyeliner.
I also have 2 series within the book that documents fashion. One with variations of blazers with CHANEL adornments to rid the boringness out of a suit, and make it chic. The other is on fingerless CHANEL gloves. As an Artist, my eyes and hands are VERY important, so I take care of them…maybe even spoil my hands with the gloves. But I mainly draw, so I need my hands to be the most comfortable they can be so that I can create.
